Ira Zito, MBA, CFP®

Ira Zito's passion for finances began when he was only 11 years old.  At the time, he had to watch his mother struggle to manage their family's finances all on her own.  He saw how hard it was to be financially successful without help or guidance.  In the years that followed, he vowed to help other people avoid the hardship his family had felt.

After graduating from West Islip High School on Long Island, Ira put himself through college and received a Master of Business Administration at Long Island University, Bachelor of Science in Economics and Accounting at the State University of New York at Oneonta and obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional designation.  He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Financial Services Institute.

Ira began his financial career in 1989 as an accountant and auditor, analyzing the financial statements of corporations both large and small, providing solutions to lower taxes, reduce expenses, increase income, comply with corporate policy and procedures.  In 1997, he decided it was time to do what he really wanted, which is to help families achieve their lifelong financial goals.  Since transitioning from accounting to financial planning, Ira has worked with some of the most prestigious financial firms in the industry. These experiences led him to become an independent financial advisor with SagePoint Financial, where he has developed a financial planning practice that provides personalized financial advice related to retirement planning, investment management, insurance, social security, long term care and estate planning.  He uses an approuch that is backed by academic research and financial science to help clarify financial situations, prioritize goals, and address concerns; then provides discipline, perspective, and guidance to help stay the course towards a secure financial future.

When he is not helping clients, you can find him spending time with his wife and two young children while keeping active swimming, running, cycling, and enjoying the great outdoors.
