Ira Zito’s passion for finances began when he was only 11 years old. At the time, he had to watch his mother, who was unemployed due to a disability, struggle to manage their family’s finances all on her own. He saw how hard it was to be financially successful without help or guidance. In the years that followed, he vowed to help other people avoid the pain and hardship his family had felt.
Ira began his financial career in 1989 as an accountant and auditor, analyzing the financial statements of organizations both large and small, providing solutions to lower taxes, reduce expenses, and increase income. In 1997, he decided it was time to do what he really wanted, which is to help families achieve their lifelong goals. Since transitioning from accounting to personal finance, Ira has worked with some of the most prestigious financial firms in the industry. These experiences led him to become an independent financial advisor, where he has developed a financial planning practice that provides personalized financial solutions for every goal, need, or problem you may have. He takes pride in using his expertise to help people gain confidence in reaching a more secure financial future.
After graduating from West Islip High School on Long Island, Ira put himself through college and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Accounting at the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1989. He then earned his MBA degree in Finance at Long Island University in 1996. He is also an alumni of the College for Financial Planning were he completed the Certified Financial Planning and Certified Retirement Plan Specialist programs in 2005 and 2007 respectively, the first of which lead him to the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and supports our National Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty members and their families with financial counseling so they can better focus on their military assignments. When he is not helping clients, you can find him spending time with his wife and children while keeping active in basketball, hockey, cycling and enjoying the great outdoors.
